Disco week overall turned out better than I expected with some amazing performances. During the results show, we both enjoyed the dance routine mentored by AI’s very own Paula Abdul and it was a pleasant change from the usual I must say. All the 7 remaining contestants looked stressed knowing that 2 of them will be leaving instead of the usual 1 due to the Judge’s Save last week.

Overall those 2 eliminated on the night was quite expected for me. The first one to be eliminated and also called on by Ryan was Lil Rounds mainly for her lack of identity although she is a darn good singer. She capped the night off with an even more energetic performance of ‘I’m Every Woman’ which is a perfect way to bow out of the competition.

Next came the last 2 contestants in the bottom 3 position for the week and it was a toss up between Anoop and young Allison. This means that Matt is saved this week as I predicted with the American voting public ensuring he stays in the competition after what happened last week. At the end of the night, Ryan announced that Anoop Desai got the lowest number of votes and thus taking the 2nd elimination spot. After the journey video clip, Anoop thanked band, people behind the scene and the judges in a very touching moment.

David Archuleta performance was another highlight of the evening singing ‘Touch My Hand’ from his debut album. His advice for the bottom 2 showed how much he has grown since last season and with his enormous talents, he will go very far I’m sure.

Next week should be interesting to see where the votes from Lil and Anoop’s supporters will spread across the remaining 5 contestants. Judging from this week’s performance, Matt will have to put on an amazing performance to keep his Idol dreams alive.
